Steroids Side Effects

Steroids are chemical substances which are closely related to the masculine sexual hormone, the testosterone, and they retain into their composition only the properties that trigger the growth in muscular and bone tissue.

Using steroids has been tested for the first time just before the first world war, on mice. Because the research done on steroids was a success, people who were practicing a muscle working sport started to use them. It’s important to remember that regardless of the result, steroids should never be taken without proper guidance.

Steroids are even used for treating medical conditions, both on adults and children.

There are two ways to take steroids: orally or by having them injected. Since oral assimilation of most drugs isn’t good, the same thing goes for steroids which get assimilated in a proportion of only 2% when taken under pill form. Just a small part of them will move to our blood and will contribute to muscular growth. This is why dosage usually go well over the medical limit, from 2-3 times the daily amount to as much as 1000 times. Since there are more types of steroids, people who used them to feed muscles will often combine chemicals or at least take both pills and injections. They think that this way they might encounter bigger success in muscle building programs, even if this hasn’t been yet proved scientifically.

Doctors warn people that taking steroids without a previous medical consultation, or without well established records and tests that are repeated periodically, risk to endanger your health and to do more harm than good. If taken in little pills, steroids can seriously harm your liver.

The negative effects of steroids can affect the body in more than just one way, and our hormonal system takes the first strike and they can trigger serious hormonal unbalances Steroids can trigger hormonal changes that are reversible, but sometimes they also trigger irreversible changes. People who take steroids can encounter trouble with fertility, but all sexual unbalances are usually reversible. Permanent problems that appear after using steroids are baldness, prostates cancer and even the growth of breaths in men, because some chemical compounds can get transformed to female hormones.

You could also be experiencing bone problems or lack of mobility. There are people who complain of skin unbalances and blood vessel diseases. Even if steroid use does trigger so many side-effects, people continue to use them, and if the use is done under strict supervision and in normal quantities, the risk are significantly lower.
